Following previous disappointments, I have developed the hypothesis that koalas do not actually exist. Rather, they are likely an invention of the Australians to make their fauna seem less deadly and terrifying.
Recently, in our time on Stradbroke Island, these pieces of evidence have presented themselves.

As I said, inconclusive. Parsimony suggests that the motion we saw was either random breezes in the trees or animatronics used to perpetuate the hypothesized ruse perpetrated by the Australians.
